Being Human in a Digital Age: Breakdowns and Buildbacks
Applied Brilliance 2013 is a journey into imagination and innovation. An exploration of what inspires us, frightens us, intrigues us and moves us. It’s a discovery of ideas, places and spaces that are defining the cultural conversation. We identify emerging trends. We debate critical cultural shifts. We uncover what’s hidden in plain sight. And we celebrate the original work that is changing our global society. Applied Brilliance is a fresh conversation that reveals how when brilliance is applied, we have the will and the power to shift how we think, feel and behave.
Our annual conference is devoted to learning, invention, creativity, and imagination. Applied Brilliance promises to make you part of the process. The program is designed to connect you with brilliant presenters; engage you in interactive dialogues, and propel you into the future. It's a festival of ideas and makers. It’s an idea and innovation boot camp balanced with entertainment and unpredictable fun. Based at the unique, boutique Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we’ll use the creative community as a backdrop to showcase applied brilliance on-site with field trips to spaces and places that are being transformed by young urban pioneers. Williamsburg is one of the hottest creative hives for Next Gen innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. You’ll be able to discover some of the brightest and most creative minds at work today. Plus we’ll have our own Applied Brilliance Maker Faire. You’ll learn how to be a maker from artisans, aerialists, pioneers, distillers, magicians, and dream weavers. Each day is capped with a spirited cocktail reception and dinner with Applied Brilliance presenters who are curated for each table to provide unpredictable, inspiring conversation. Applied Brilliance: Stimulation. Revelation. Jubilation. If you want to know what’s next, you need to be part of our conversation.
