From the country’s first public school to over more than fifty colleges and universities, greater Boston is a global leader in Education. This curated bus tour will highlight four outstanding projects across the continuum of learning, highlighting Boston based recipients of the AIA Education Facility Design Award that exemplifies the future of learning spaces. Attendees will engage with project architects and client representatives to get firsthand exposure and appreciation of what makes these projects so impactful for its students and communities.
Expected projects scheduled include: The Boston Arts Academy, a unique public high school focused on Arts-based curriculum, and steps away from Fenway Park; Northeastern University’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex, a hive of activity that embodies a growing University’s commitment to experiential learning; The King Open/Cambridge Street Upper School Complex, a net-zero energy combination of daycare, school, library, and community center that serves as a neighborhood resource; MIT.NANO, a cutting-edge nanotechnology research facility at one of the nation’s top institutions for science and technology.
The tour will be followed by a facilitated discussion where attendees will share their thoughts and identify common ground amongst these projects that have been recognized as state-of-the-art learning facilities.
