This webinar will introduce participants to the fundamentals of Neonatal Intensive Care Units, as well as Pediatric Intensive Care Units and their planning and design. It will provide a brief overview of the history and evolution of the NICU and PICU and outline current design drivers. Typical user needs and basic program requirements will be reviewed along with a summary of guidelines that drive space planning. Selected projects will illustrate principles of NICU and PICU design and how different models of care can shape designs.
