Many have already received notice of WMF's biannual call for submissions to the Watch List. Nominations are made through WMF's website and are due March 20th, with awardees announced in 2027. Please see the link below which also includes Guidelines for the nomination completion.

I am also happy to share WMF's 2026 initiative Irreplaceable America, which will be recognizing 10 U.S. needworthy heritage sites on the occasion of the nation's 250th anniversary. The call will be formally announced in early February and will mirror the Watch List nomination process. Applications are also due March 20th. Let me clarify quickly that selected sites do not require association with the American Revolution and will be considered for significance across the breadth of Indigenous and American history.
