"The
Forest Service recently issued an
advance notice of proposed rulemaking and request for comment regarding climate change and management of national
forests and grasslands. The comment period closes June 20.
Obviously natural resources are the focus, but some of the questions posed for comment lend themselves to flagging cultural resource issues. Questions address topics like Indigenous Knowledge, disaster response, tribal cultural values, data layers for the FS Climate Risk Viewer, recreation uses, and community resiliency. The ACHP plans to comment and hopefully others in the preservation community will as well."
