Last year, I had the opportunity to serve on the AIA Strategic Planning Committee, helping shape the draft of AIA's 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. That draft is now open for member feedback, and I want to encourage associates in particular to take a few minutes to review it and share your perspective.
For associates, this plan is especially important. It sets priorities that will directly influence:
-
how AIA supports early- and mid-career professionals,
-
pathways to licensure, leadership, and firm ownership,
-
investments in climate action, technology, and practice innovation, and
-
the long-term health and relevance of our profession.
Strategic plans may feel abstract, but they guide real decisions, from programs and advocacy to funding and leadership focus. Associate voices are critical to ensuring the plan reflects the realities of today's workforce and the future we are actively building.
Ways to engage:
Your input helps shape where AIA is heading and how well it serves associates over the next five years.
