Hi Vlastimil,
The NAHB Building Systems Council (BSC)
https://www.nahb.org/nahb-community/councils/building-systems-councils is a good place to start. They are a network of home builders working with alternate building systems, including shipping containers. Examining the BSC member firms may expose you to other building solutions you may/or may not be aware of.
For example, Moose River Homes, a member of the Building Systems Council, has developed a process for new home construction where he has divided the home construction process up into a series of major components, and then he identifies a company that can build each individual component of the home. Patrick coordinates the fabrication of all the components of the home as well as their deliver to the job site. By utilizing 100% offsite construction, Moose River Homes can reduce up to 40% of the cost of the design and construction of a new home.
I recently interviewed him and he discussed how doing things a bit differently than the industry standard can create tremendous value for the client. An example is his recommendation of framing the home with steel instead of wood. He also explains why he recommends structural insulated steel and insulated concrete forms be considered for inclusion in the design of a new home. He said he can help any architect take their existing drawings and convert them into a drawing that will allow the home to be 100% offsite. He says his process of construction will create a home that costs considerably less, will be more resistant to pests, natural disasters (like fires and floods), and have improved indoor air quality.
Sincerely,
kevin
