I have read so much about this.  Can someone enlighten me with facts, like architect facts; is there an original section drawing handy?  and plumbing plans, etc that show exactly how this was built, is the bottom "granite slabs" or slab on grade?  Was it supposed to "leak"?  where are the pumps that move water?  How did they drain it and fill it?  What water was used to refill?  What product was used to coat it?  Were there any specs for the pool guy to follow?  I know I am running on but honestly, I really love facts and I miss them.

There is a good article in NYTimes showing the systems. (And I usually don't have anything good to say about NYTimes)

This webpage has a decent description of its history and links to other resources.

John;  thanks for posting that report from 1999.  I hope to spend some time on it but its 241 pages!  And that was just "part 1" !

This is the kind of deep dive that is supposed to happen before major work is undertaken.  Oh well.
