  • 1.  MCP + BIM equals exciting opportunities

Users of Revit 2027 now have access to an MCP Server by Autodesk. Like adding PDFs as references for AI prompts, you can incorporate your BIM files. I discussed some use cases on my blog, including space program analysis and a model health dashboard. These examples produced fully functional, interactive HTML files-though not scalable, they are quick to develop and useful for testing ideas. The possibilities appear limited only by our imagination.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol.

What ideas will you try with this capability? Have you already experimented with or implemented MCP into a workflow with Revit or another BIM platform?

I finally connected my Revit MCP, and I am genuinely excited about the possibilities ahead. I am currently partnering with our Technical group to explore building code-related quality control, and the potential here feels very promising.

I am curious to learn how others are using it right now.
