Join the AIA Historic Resources Committee (HRC) and an invited panel of experts for a dialogue on Historic Preservation in an Age of Disruption at Taliesin West, a UNESCO World Heritage site and National Historic Landmark nestled in the desert foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The AIA HRC's 2026 Taliesin Colloquium will examine the field of historic preservation at a time of significant change. Those involved in the stewardship of the built environment must consider and navigate many converging and diverging issues driven by a shift in policy, climate, and the rapid advancement of technology . This gathering will offer a unique opportunity for attendees to take part in a timely conversation about the rapidly evolving challenges and opportunities inherent in this moment.

I will try to attend again as I did in 2023.  I felt it was a great experience.  Will the topics of the East Wing demolition of the White House, the white washing planned for the Eisenhower Executive Office Building as well as our African American's, women's, Alaska Native's, Native American's elimination of their history be discussed? Also, this administration's classification of our profession of architecture as non-professional in both study and career should be a topic of discussion.  If these topics are covered, then I definitely will attend.  The Architect's Newspaper of NY, NY covered the letter to James McCrery last Friday and that link is here for your information:
