Many of you are friends of Jim Kienle, FAIA. It is with great sadness I share that he passed quietly in his home of December 7, 2022. Jim was an active member of the AIA and the AIA-HRC for nearly 50 years.

For those of you who are able, the calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 317 N New Jersey St, Indianapolis. (See his full obituary here.) As a tribute to Jim, AIA Indianapolis is asking its members who attend the service to wear a bow tie.

Jonathan:  I am sorry you lost your friend and colleague.  This reminds me of the old days.  I left Indy in '78 to come to Kalamazoo MI.  I have been doing old and historic work ever since.  I am a one man office still drawing by hand.  What I missed most about Indy was Downtown and its Architects in the AIA.
Thank you,  Nelson B. Nave, AIA
