Seeking information on and examples of a historic "Flower House" or "Hot House" (or related name) of an inground structure with glazed covering for keeping plants, seedlings, etc. over the winter, utilizing the warmth of the ground and I suppose early passive solar heat.  This only example I have found (see photo) is in Washington, AR (SW Arkansas) and is approx. 6' x 6' x 5' deep.  The adjacent residence was built ca. 1847; the date of the "hot house" is unknown.  Searching HABS was unsuccessful.  Searching "Glossary of Early Southern Architecture" also unsuccessful.  Any knowledge or reference to such would be appreciated!
