As the Global Practice Committee develops its 2027–2030 Strategic Plan, we would like to hear from you. Your feedback will help us understand what is most important to you and where the committee can provide the greatest value.

This feedback period will remain open for two weeks (6.10.2026–6.24.2026).

    1. As someone interested in global practice, what information, connections, resources, or support from the Global Practice Committee would be most valuable to you?
    2. Looking ahead, what emerging trends, challenges, or opportunities in the international architectural practice would you like to learn more about over the next three years?"

Thank you to the Global Practice Committee for opening this important conversation.

As someone who has practiced across the U.S., Asia, and the Middle East, I believe the greatest value GPC can provide is to become a trusted bridge between knowledge, people, and opportunities in global practice.

The most valuable support would include practical resources on cross-border practice models, international project delivery, licensure and mobility, local regulations, risk management, and cultural context. Equally important is creating more intentional connections among AIA members, international chapters, local experts, educators, emerging professionals, and firms working across regions.

Looking ahead to 2027–2030, I would love to see GPC explore several major themes: the impact of AI on global project delivery, climate resilience in extreme environments, new models of international collaboration, professional mobility, procurement and client expectations in emerging markets, and how architects can maintain design quality, ethics, and public value while working across different political, economic, and cultural systems.

Global practice is no longer a niche topic. It is becoming a core part of how the profession evolves. I look forward to seeing GPC continue to serve as a platform for shared learning, meaningful exchange, and stronger global connections.
