AIA members with an interest in historic preservation are invited to attend FORUM 2026: Preservation Currents, hosted by the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions in Minneapolis this summer, July 22–26.

FORUM 2026 is a valuable continuing education opportunity for architects working in or alongside the field of historic preservation. This five-day conference brings together architects, planners, preservation commissioners, historians, consultants, and advocates from across the country for workshops, tours, networking events, and educational sessions.

FORUM is NAPC's biennial conference and the only national gathering focused exclusively on the challenges and opportunities facing those working and volunteering in historic preservation at the local level. Rooted in NAPC's mission to strengthen local preservation through education, training, and advocacy, FORUM offers five days of workshops, tours, networking events, and educational sessions.

All FORUM programming qualifies for AIA continuing education credits, and many sessions are also eligible for HSW credits. Architects attending FORUM have the opportunity to connect not only with fellow architects, but also with preservation planners, commissioners, architects, historians, consultants, and advocates from across the country.

    A Full Conference Registration includes:

    • Educational sessions and discussion panels on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

    • Friday Opening Plenary

    • Friday evening reception at Mill City Museum

    • Saturday Commission Excellence Awards Celebration

    • Opportunity to sign up for mobile tours and workshops

    • Networking opportunities throughout the conference

Early bird registration is available through May 8:

    • NAPC Members: $350

    • Non-Members: $450

You can learn more about the conference schedule and offerings and register at: forum.napcommissions.org.

We would also welcome the opportunity to work with architectural firms as a conference sponsor. FORUM 2026 brings together a highly engaged audience of preservation professionals and decision-makers from across the country, and sponsorship is a great way to highlight your chapter, firm, or organization while supporting preservation education and training.

NAPC offers a range of general and exclusive sponsorship opportunities and is happy to work with you to identify a package that aligns with your goals. You can learn more at forum.napcommissions.org/sponsorship.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We hope to see you in Minneapolis this summer!
