Join The Athenaeum of Philadelphia, American Institute of Architects and Historic American Buildings Survey on November 10 - 11, 2023 for the 2023 Roger W. Moss Symposium, celebrating 90 years of the Historic American Buildings Survey and 40 years of the Charles E. Peterson Prize.
A keynote address by C. Ford Peatross, Founding Director of the Center for Architecture, Design & Engineering at the Library of Congress, will kick off a weekend of high caliber speakers. We will also celebrate this year's Peterson Prize winners!
On Friday evening, two new exhibits will open:
Blazing the Trail: The Historic American Buildings Survey Turns 90
and
40 Years of the Charles E. Peterson Prize.
On Saturday, enjoy a full panel of speakers covering the past, present and future of the Historic American Buildings survey, including plenty of time for Q&A! Speakers will include John G. Waite, Amalia Leifeste, Nan R. Gutterman, Willie Graham, Mario Santana Quintero, and Paul Davidson.
This year's Peterson Prize Winners are Ball State University, Graduate Program in Historic Preservation, University of Texas at San Antonio, School of Architecture, University of Miami, School of Architecture, and Clemson University, Graduate Program in Historic Preservation.
