So many people say we need less meetings, but meetings are necessary and valuable. Much of the problem is that most of us never receive training on how to organize, conduct, facilitate and follow-up from meetings - and those that have learned either forget or don't use the tools we have. One of my favorite books is Death by Meeting, by Patrick Lencioni. It is a quick read and outlines the 4 basic types of meetings: Check-in, Tactical, Strategic, Workshop. Each has a different duration, format, purpose and goals.
When we are thoughtful in the organization, preparation, facilitation and follow-up from meetings, they can be incredibly valuable tools. When we are not, meetings are an incredible time suck that wastes one of the only recoverable asset we have - time. My challenge to all (including myself) for 2026 is to Meet Better.

Depends! Meetings are good for firm morale and helps keep people on the same wave.

Some firms are experimenting with "no-meeting" days. Would this help or hurt your team's productivity?
Vote yes/no and share your reasoning.
