In order to progress the Buildings Breakthrough target, the GlobalABC is inviting feedback on a draft definition and essential elements of Near-Zero Emission and Resilient Buildings (NZERBs) as part of Priority Action "B1" on Standards and Certification. This consultation is the final opportunity to contribute to internationally aligned, flexible definition that will guide effective and comparable building policies worldwide. Relevant deadlines:
June 6 – deadline for comment on definition of Near-Zero Emission and Resilient Buildings (NZERBs), see the LinkedIn post  and submission form.
Proposed definition "A near-zero emission and resilient building is highly energy efficient with minimal GHG emissions across its life-cycle, fulfills functional and technical requirements, and protects its users, and social, economic and environmental value, from reasonably anticipated current and future local hazards."

July 30 – submission deadline for the 2026 UIA Guidebook for the 2030 Agenda. If you are familiar with the 2023 version, this guidebook is a resource of architectural case studies linked to each of the 17 SDGs. It would be great for AIA members to have their projects included!
