The awards programme recognises and honours excellence in design in three categories: Professional (submissions further organized into Small, Medium & Large projects), Emerging Practice, and Exemplary Performance in Sustainability.
Sustainability is a core aspect of the AIA UK awards and the jury encourages all project submissions to complete as much of the sustainability portion of the form as possible, as well as to provide other metrics or narrative that elaborate on project sustainability measures for the jury's consideration.
Details as follows:
-
Professional: Entries are sought from architects, industrial designers, urban planners, landscape architects, and interior designers for projects whose construction has been completed within the last three years (2021-2023).
-
Emerging Practice: Entries are sought from young, emerging architects, industrial designers, urban planners, landscape architects, and interior designers whose practices are made up of design principals under 40 years of age, for projects whose construction has been completed within the last three years (2021-2023).
-
Sustainability: We launched this award in 2020 as part of the worldwide call to action on climate change and carbon reduction. This award seeks to commend projects that demonstrate creative and effective sustainable designs, whose construction has been completed within the last three years (2021-2023).
