2023 CRAN Symposium

  • 1.  2023 CRAN Symposium

    Posted 06-15-2023 10:59 AM

Does anyone have more details about the symposium this October? A "save the date" page says it begins at 9am on October 11 and ends at 5pm on the 15th. That's essentially a 5-day conference which is much longer than I remembered from previous years.

I would kind of like to get flights booked early so I'm mainly wondering if it's reasonable to arrive in SLC on those dates, or do I need to plan for an extra day on each end.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jack Barnes

    Hi Susan,

This looks like a great program, but only 2.5 HSW credits?  Will there be any additional offerings or is this the final agenda?

    Thank you,

    Meryl

    Hi Marilyn,

The total CE will be 25.5 LUS / 4.5 HSW as a few hours are missing from the site. They'll be added in the next round of edits.

The amount of good relevant presentations, and the associated CEU's, is fantastic. Thank you for clarifying, Susan.  I don't know where anyone got the impression there were only going to be 2.5 CUE's.  I will state that CRAN is by far the most relevant national conference for Architects who concentrate on superior residential work.  It is more focused on residential architecture than AIA National and goes way deeper into best practices than the NAHB's International Builders Show.  I wish I had gotten involved more ten years ago!

I think the comment is based on the number of HSW hours, I agree CRAN is the best program the AIA has created for residential architects.

Yes, I agree with Meryl, it's an interesting agenda and an equally interesting choice of place, but for me it's not enough HSW (& actually overall points as well) to make the trip feasible.

More Hsw credits would be a good incentive towards attendance.
