Question: Why haven't we heard about this?

"London Aquatic Center, by Zaha Hadid's ceiling swoops down so low over the pool that spectators in the upper seats can't see the high divers leapfrom their platform. How typical of modern architecture. The building does not work? Who cares! Functionality would be too bourgeois for the likes of Lady Ha-Ha"

Because we don't prioritize and celebrate the process of designing good architect. Rather it is about sculptures and starchitects.

    Stop celebrating the Architect,

    Stop celebrating the Architecture,

Start celebrating the process and value of creating Architecture.

I guess I should say this before my comments are miss-interpreted. The stand on modernism in the linked article has nothing to do with the point of this post. I think you know that. I only posted the link to show here the information came from.

I love and adore most all styles of architecture done well, and in context with its site relative to vernacular, culture, and local scale.

This small problem that you would travel around the world to watch an event and not be able to see it all from from your paid seat shouldn't get the way glorifying and architect as a demigod.
