Perhaps a better idea would be a TV show? Reality television is hugely popular and shows that pick random people and "give" them a make-over (room/kitchen, landscape, restaurant, etc.) seem to resonate with homeowners. What we need is a show that partners a residential architect with people who are adding onto their home - this could perhaps be an affordable venue and provides a quick enough turnaround for TV AND it would show the true value of an architect, one who has the training, education, and talent to make an addition "work."
