    Dear Mr. Andreozzi,

I whole heartedly agree with your comments to Mr. Ivy.  I don't have much to add right now - except to say that I continue to hope that the AIA will become involved in changing the public's perception of what we have to offer - from expensive and self interested - to a profession dedicated to helping clients improve their environment to the degree each can afford.  Years ago the AIA informed membership that it was the intent of the organization to educate the public of our value, through various national media, in improving the built environment.  I didn't personnally see any evidence of that effort and don't know what ever became of it.

While I practiced for many years as a purist (a minimalist), the older I get the more important context has become to me in the design process.  I don't mean to suggest that I accept a particular context, but rather intend to continually improve upon it.  This realization, at least for me, has helped me connect more effectively.

There are many topics that I hope members will address over time - from  architectural education - to adapting to these very difficult times.

As a side note, I would like to hear from members some straightforward stats as to how we are doing economically in the residential arena.  As for me, things have slowed.
