For all of you who attended the tour of the Miller House at the 2011 CRAN Symposium, I had to post this note. I bought a 1960 interior decorating book off Amazon and opened my new purchase last night. While quickly thumbing through it, I randomly turned to a page showing a wall lined with modern looking shelves and cabinets. It took a second before I realized that I recognized that wall of storage - it was the wall of the living area from the Miller House! The only comment on it was that it was an interior designed by Alexander Girard, it said nothing of the Millers or Saarinen - but I recognized that wall!
Since the book was from 1960, that means it the picture was taken when the house was just a few years old and it looked the same as it did back in Oct.
It was too cool of a coincidence not to share with my fellow symposium attendees!
