    Dear Mr. Ramos,
Help me understand your argument.  When you say "good design," how do you define that term?  From the context, it sounds like when you say "design," you mean "architectural form," and when you say "good," you mean "beautiful."  Is that correct?

    Thanks,
    Don

    Dear Mr. Argus,
Yes, by design, I mean architectural form, for that is the primary responsibility and purpose of the profession of architecture. By good, I mean that the architectural form fulfills to the best possible ability the function, aesthetic, cost, and era of such a construct in the most sustainable manner for its local environment. This is the architect's  challenge and should be the focus of our profession especially when economic times are hard.  Distraction from this aim results in cheap trendy garbage in the built environment that becomes tomorrows waste and that is never sustainable.

Good Design is taking the same kit of parts and arranging it better than the other guy/ gal.
