The AIA/CRAN together with The Images Publishing Group announce the forthcoming publication Houses for All Regions: CRAN Residential Collection and invite your firm to submit a project for inclusion in this high profile title. Inclusion in the CRAN Residential Collection is the highest honor that the AIA/CRAN can bestow on a single family custom designed residential project. Projects will be grouped into climate zones: Arid/Semi-arid, Temperate, Tropical/Sub-tropical, Arctic/Cold-climate, with an introductory essay written by an expert in the field for each section.

Inclusion in the CRAN Residential Collection is the highest honor that the AIA/CRAN can bestow on a single family custom designed residential project. It is conferred by the national AIA/CRAN Advisory Group in recognition of design solutions that respond to the individual circumstances of place and program. Underlying our selection of projects will be the principle of contextual sustainability, influenced by a style neutral code. The AIA/CRAN encourage an architectural order which recognizes the existence of stylistic categories, but which is equally responsive to the vernacular, particularly cultural and topographic influences, local crafts, and natural resources.

This is the inaugural launch of an idea that was born of us, me and you, CRAN... and for you, CRAN!  The original idea was to cerebrate residential architecture of all archetypes without any style bias in order convey a comprehensive message to the public that architectural solutions are more than sculptures, but rather responsive and thoughtful solutions idiosyncratic to individual sites, cultures, and environments. While the original concept was to create an annual compendium, the publishers liked the idea so much they suggested a quarterly book.  I hope that you all consider submitting a project or sending this link to a friend.  It is free to submit, and only requires that you buy $1500 worth of books if you are published, which you would anyway.

    Do it today!
