I'm looking for a source for bronze or copper clad doors for a church entry.  Can anyone point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

David - I had new bronze-clad doors for St. Francis Cathedral made using Shidoni Foundry in Tesuque, NM.  Most top art foundries should have the skills and access to materials.

This chat site is difficult to use.

    David,

Try to find a local artisan to create the cladding for the doors, which I am sure are a custom size anyway. The substrate material should be durable and rot resistant, such as cedar. I was confronted with a similar issue several years ago in NJ, when I had to replace a pair of historic doors with a fire egress door. I found a local artisan who carved a single door that mimicked the original pair using Spanish cedar. Good Luck!

I'm not sure quite what you need, but I have found the firm Cullar/LaCuesta to be a great source for metal-wrapped wood moldings. In my case they were for the doors of a 1920s theater restoration.

    Good luck.
