I am sending you the preliminary step for getting signatures to a petition I have drafted on CREDO's websit to tell J.P. Morgan to return the original stained glass windows to the Louis Sullivan building in Algona, Iowa.  The building was constructed in 1913, so this is the 100th anniversary of its construction.

You can click on the link at the bottom of the e-mail to read the full petition which emphasizes Sullivan's importance to our cultural heritage.  The windows that J.P. Morgan does have are in its private executive dininc room, where many of those eating there may not even realize the treasure they have in front of them.  I think it is corporate narcissism for them to retain the windows and complacency on the part of too many people in Algona not to stand up for Louis Sullivan's contribution to our historic cultural heritage.

A letter or article in an architectural magazine or blog or letter to the editor of the Chicago Tribune would also be helpful.

    Best regards,
    Kathleen Agena

    Dear Friends,

I just created the petition "Tell J, P. Morgan to return the stained-glass windows to the Louis Sullivan building in Iowa" and wanted to ask if you could add your name too.

This campaign means a lot to me and the more support we can get behind it, the better chance we have of succeeding. You can read more and sign the petition here:

Thank you for the information regarding the efforts of trying to obtain the stained class windows for the Louis Sullivan Building from the J.P. Morgan group.  I have forwarded the email to my colleagues at the National Trust for Historic Preservation and to fellow board members of the Preserve Nevada organization.

May I ask what the J.P. Morgan response to the request of returning the stained glass windows has been?

    Thanks.
