    Unfortunately, most believe they can design and construct.  I have a wall within my office that I christened "All the World's an Architect" that showcases Client and Contractor sketches/drawings on residential and commercial projects we have been involved with.  They all lack scale, code review, and a "big idea".  But I use it as a teaching tool to our staff as well as a good chuckle every morning. 

    That being said, I agree with the previous comments, the AIA at all levels as well as ourselves need to continue educating the public on our profession.  At the end of the process, Clients and Contractors usually better understand our role.  Our hope is that they communicate it to others.
