I am exploring options for establishing an interactive, searchable knowledge database where users can post useful technical information, helpful links, and start discussions within our mid-sized office. There are many options out there ranging from discussions forums, to blogs, to wiki's. Wordpress and Zohowiki are examples. Have any of you used these types of hosting services and have any advice on ones to use and ones to avoid?

if you are a mid-sized firm, you should consider converting your intranet to a SharePoint site. We made the switch las tear and have found the change to be very usefull. it is not only a metatag searchable database, but a company calendar, list maker, and file repository. ------------------------------------------- Gordon Rogers AIA Architectural Manager Kitchell CEM, Inc. Hi James,

I agree with Gordon about SharePoint. Our firm, Knowledge Architecture, has developed a social intranet product for architects and engineers called Synthesis built on the SharePoint platform. We have built intranets for almost thirty AE firms in the last 2 years.

You can watch a webinar about Synthesis here: http://www.knowledge-architecture.com/synthesis.php

    Hope that helps.

    Best,
    Chris
