Technology in Architectural Practice

First Randy, I think it's important to leave behind the popular myth of the Master Builder, if the profession is to successfully move to full implementation of a collaborative work flow. I have made this proposal in several presentation and it represents to many a decline in professional influence. But it's a concept that is crucial to resetting the operating system in the Virtual building era. So let's look at the Master Builder era as a nostalgic remenent of a past era - not unlike Clipper Ships, spats, fighter pilots and parallel rules. As a profession we have come to a crossroads where technology is opening new opportunities for Architects to regain influence as a leader of the building team -- but it will not be the Master Builder revisited.
