Fellow colleagues,
I appreciate the concise response by Sami - well said, thank you!
As an architect, planner, poet, painter and photographer among, all that makes me feel good about architecture, I have enjoyed the past few posts immensely!
These are all comments that embrace what my generation of colleagues have striven for in the profession - a meeting of all disciplines necessary to "build" something!
That is my primary reason of becoming an "architect" - to get something built that people can use, enjoy, feel good about experiencing.
My generation is now of course - I know many of us as leadership do our best to get all of the interns to learn and experience construction, materials, other disciplines expertise - not just to pass a test - to use the knowledge as the "conductor of the orchestra" - make the melody harmonious and you will have, CD's that work, a client that is reasonably happy with the results and yes! a contractor that had a good experience "building from our sets of drawings.......amen!
Note that my school of architecture had CD's as an elective - structural theory a requisite - things have changed after forty years - to the better I say!
Thanks to all contributors - keep the positive dialogue going and "do something" ta your office, school or other venue to make it work better.
