Susan Haviland's comments are very much of the same belief as mine that I had voiced earlier. Like her, I don't like the idea of being drawn into an argument but am compelled to respond to Charles Graham's response. I'm failing to see this 'arrogance, cynicism, and disdain for most of the world' that Mr. Graham claims Ms Haviland purports. Furthermore, Mr. Graham's earlier comment in this thread of his perception that with the Record 'there seems to be an unhealthy obsession with foreign designers' could itself be interpreted as a disdain for most of the world.
In terms of Mr. Graham's comments that he is finding 'callous disregard for the ethics of (his) profession' seems to me a stirring of the pot in a vein not related to what the supporters of the AR Houses have intended when commenting about the issue.
All comments aside, the AR Houses issue is thought provoking and is in the vanguard. I support AR for keeping the profession actively engaged.

Odd... I looked to make some sense out of her comments, but instead found arrogance, cynicism, and disdain for most of the world. I looked for sensibility, but found callous disregard for the ethics of my profession.
