    The Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB) and the Brazilian Navy officially launched on January 22 the Comandante Ferraz Antartic Station Bidding aiming to select the best project for reconstruction of the facilities of Brazilian scientific station in Antarctica. The call for bidding will be published on January 28 and enrollment for the bidding will be open until March 14 to Brazilian and foreign architects associated to Brazilian architecture offices.

    The international nature of the contest aims at furthering the interaction between specialists from several countries thereby encouraging innovation and adding advanced technological resources to the project. In order to achieve this goal, the call for bidding will include a Term of Reference requiring the establishment of multidisciplinary teams of specialists coordinated by the architect in charge of project design.
