Illinois' Cook County Jail has recently unveiled full-body scanners in an effort to improve security for both inmates and corrections officers. According to Sheriff Tom Dart, the scanners will reduce the need for strip searches. Officers can use the new technology to detect contraband smuggled in through body cavities.
