I had a similar experience, but schematic designs for a house addition were never finalized while the client hired an interior designer and personal friend. The designer was advocating large over-scaled furniture which was proving difficult to accommodate on this smallish narrow lot house addition. Ultimately the client wisely resolved the problem by buying another much larger house in the same neighborhood. End of my house addition job, but all for the better as I was paid for my efforts.
