Street traffic light should have an apparent flashing signal besides just lighting.
The the Red stopping signals should be flashing as well.

And they should be wifi enabled and capable of adjusting their frequency and duration based on vehicular or pedestrian load and generally be a lot more intelligent then they are. 

I wonder how much fuel/energy and time is wasted with our current traffic lights.  I wonder how much time and resources could be saved if the traffic lights were connected to dynamic points of reference.
