Hello All I'm writing to pass along links to information about two summer programs in Downtown Las Vegas run by the AIA Las Vegas and the UNLV Downtown Design Center. I'm wondering if you might share this information with those you think would be interested. There are two 3 week programs based upon light and urban design in the Mojave Desert. These programs will enable attendees to explore the local history and present condition of Downtown Las Vegas and the valley, learn theories and methods related to urban design, and provide the attendees with a design project to apply the learned knowledge. The courses do not have explicit University credit, but we can provide syllabi to attendees to take back to their institutions. We will give out certificates of completion. Essentially, academic transfer could work out to a 5 unit studio, or two one hour seminars and a three unit studio per each three week session. Basic information about the programs can be found here: http://www.unlvddc.org/#/lightlab-nightlab/ I also have flyers which I can mail to you, if you would like to have them. We are running this with mostly UNLV faculty this year and Finnish designers. We hope to form partnerships with other professionals and academics to teach programs like this on topics of their interest that would relate to the Las Vegas area. If you, or faculty/professionals you know might be interested in partnering to teach here in Las Vegas, please contact me! Kindest regards, Ken
