This is a great topic for discussion. Even in South Mississippi, we are seeing a similar trend with our school boards and curriculum. In 1998, we started designing our schools in a pod concept. Each pod has a shared workspace/corridor. Classrooms are organized where they can exit each side to one of these workspaces, giving the administration the flexibility to control the students entrances based on needs each year. Some years a classroom would exit to the left workspace if they needed more classrooms for 3rd grade, the next year it will exit to the right for 4th grade.
