Paul:  Interesting assesment of the WFX conference.  I have also noticed a dwindling attendence at this conference in recent years - as well as most others.  I assumed that the state of the economy and the associated reduction in church budgets for such activity was at play.  There is no question that this conference appeals to a particular demographic, or genre, in terms of worship experience - but not one I would necessarily characterize as lacking in quality.  In fact, it's the appeal of the worship experience (combined with compelling community spaces and cutting edge children's education environments) that make these churches the fastest growing in the country.  Actually, my opinion is that the 'experience' is actually beginning to trump the architecture - not depend on it.  At the very least, our traditional sensibilities about church architecture are being challenged and redefined - often with lower budgets and a preference for quantity over quality.  Nonetheless, within this genre (not necessarily a narrow one) - the WFX conference can offer some meaningful insight.
