Could Arcosanti be considered a secular temple to the community of man? Often within interfaith conversation we may not consider humanist facilities. I have always found Arcosanti to be a retreat from the world, where one can reconnect with craft, art, people and nature. Just a thought to mark his passing today. http://azdailysun.com/news/local/architect-paolo-soleri-dies-at-age/article_5577cc0c-a157-11e2-a271-0019bb2963f4.html

Paolo Soleri was an inspiration to a lot of us coming out of the 1960s architecture schools, and aspiring to a higher calling in our profession. Visiting Arcosanti was a right of passage and i only wish i could have spent more time trying to understand and appreciate his built work in Arizona. We have one of his sketches and photos from our visit to remember him by.

Back in 1971 when I visited Paolo Soleri's studio workshop, the model of Arcosanti had a hand written sign tapped to it that read "Arcosanti is an Edsel".
