Police Facilities for Millennials and Beyond: 5 misconceptions about millennials

In preparation for the Fall AAJ Conference session, Police Facilities for Millennials and Beyond, I asked several of my work colleagues, friends and family what they thought of when they heard the term 'millennial'.

A surprisingly large amount of initial responses were, "what's a millennial?"

Aside from that, I got a quite wide range of opinions that made me feel the need, as a Millennial myself, to illustrate 5 common misconceptions about the generation. Adopting a Millennial mindset is an important consideration because Millennials will make up 75% of the global workforce by 2030.

How would you define a Millennial?

  • Check out this research that says Millennials prefer more face-to-face interaction over older generations
  • Pew Research Center published this research that evaluates Millennials debt compared to other generations

I can't wait to attend this session and learn more about design strategies that address Millennial-specific needs:
