Join Regional and Urban Design Committee at AIA24!

We will host a reception on Thursday, June 6 from 6-8pm at the Marriott Marquis Salon. You'll share conversations with design leaders about what works (and doesn't work) in our communities and discuss opportunities to effect change in our world. Plus, you'll enjoy light fare and beverages as Regional and Urban Design Knowledge Community leadership shares highlights of recent activity and a preview of the exciting things to come.

We will also host a forum on Friday, June 7 from 10- 11:30am at the Convention Center. Architects shape our rapidly changing world through planning and design—impacting housing, public buildings, public spaces, and infrastructure in our downtowns, neighborhoods, and communities. In this moment, urban environments demand innovation and action.

The forum brings together designers and leaders of forward-thinking projects in the Washington DC metro area. From the 11th Street bridge that literally and figuratively connects differing socio-economic areas to Montgomery County where transit-oriented development is connecting communities and beyond, we will discuss how equity, mobility, infrastructure, sustainability, resiliency, and food accessibility impacts our world and how communities are addressing and adjusting to these opportunities and challenges. Representatives from Building Bridges Across the River, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, and Montgomery County, MD will be included on the panel.

Registration for the reception and forum is limited. Select EV223 to join us at the reception and EV304 to join us at the forum. You can register at https://conferenceonarchitecture.com/.
