What is the AIA Public Architects Committee and the AIA writ large doing to counter administration efforts to layoff USG architects summarily without cause through probationary terminations and reduction in force (RIF)?

    Thanks for this comment.
I certainly encourage us to write these ill-conceived layoffs that are "penny wise and pound foolish".

James, the AIA is currently holding its AIA Leadership Summit 2025 | The American Institute of Architects and I expect that there will be a thoughtful and targeted response that keeps in mind the interests of the broad architectural community, including public architects.  In the meantime, please consider reading this excellent publication from 2019 by Places editor Nancy Levinson, which described the evisceration of the federal civil service during the first administration of the current president:  Open and Shut.
