Social Change Through Architecture and Art
AIA NJ is proud to announce that our member and Joshua Zinder, AIA, Managing Partner at Joshua Zinder Architecture + Design and recipient of the prestigious Faith & Form Award, will join a distinguished panel of architects for an inspiring conversation on the role of design in advancing social change in this upcoming AIA NY Webinar.
In this session, attendees will hear how architecture and art can act as catalysts for community impact. The panelists will share their experiences creating public events and installations that raise awareness of critical issues while building connections across diverse communities.
Case studies presented range in scale and scope from a single alleyway community center to sprawling week- and multi-week events with multiple built structures. Attendees acquire tools and methods for forming partnerships, developing budgets and schedules, integrating social media strategy, and raising funds to benefit social causes and nonprofit partners, which they can bring back to their own communities to create new and innovative events and exhibitions that leverage design in the public sphere to spur conversation and make direct in support of social goals.
