The U.S. Department of Energy is expected to open a grant funding opportunity to help make schools more energy efficient and improve indoor air quality. The Renew America's Schools grants are expected to open in November with up to $80 million available for school projects to reduce building operating costs through efforts like ventilation system improvements and building envelop and lighting projects. The funding will be available to state and local governments, non-governmental groups including associations, community organizations and workforce training providers.
