I am heading up a new effort at CLF to collect and publish project case studies of built projects that completed an LCA and demonstrate an embodied carbon reduction (or material-specific calcs if there was no WBLCA). We are looking for case studies in a number of categories and specifically, I thought you all may be able to help identify a few in the categories of 'non-structural biobased materials' and single-family residential.
Below is the request and a link to the Google survey to complete for each project. You can see the list of all of the project categories in the Google form. Let me know if you have any questions.
The Carbon Leadership Forum is launching an effort to collect, compile, and curate a set of robust case studies to highlight embodied carbon reduction successes on built projects. And we are interested in your projects!
As projects encounter a growing number of policies, rating system certifications and commitment programs requiring embodied carbon reductions, AEC teams, building owners, developers, and policymakers alike are looking for tangible examples of what best practice is today for achieving real reductions on projects. These case studies will be used to help educate CLF's network and community to accelerate action on more projects. For selected case studies, CLF staff will review the assessment used to quantify reductions for specific strategies and interview the project team about the ups and downs of their experience making these embodied carbon reductions a reality on their projects.
If you are interested in submitting a project for consideration, please complete this short form with some basic project information. The projects must meet the criteria laid out in the form to be considered for publication.
The deadline to submit projects is October 18, 2024. If your project is selected, CLF will reach out later this fall to collect additional project and LCA data.
Thank you,
Michelle
