Good luck to all who submitted for the
AIA/AAH Healthcare Design Awards. The deadline for entries was March 13, 2017. Look for award recipients to be announced and presented in July at the AIA AAH/ACHA Summer Leadership Summit in Chicago.
In recognition that healthcare building involves working within existing healthcare settings, AIA/AAH has included a new category starting 2017 – Renovations/Remodeled construction.
Awarded projects will be featured on the AIA website and in the AIA Supplement in November. They will also be published in the case study database developed and updated by the AAH Research Committee and will be accessible from the AAH website.
AIA/AAH List of Healthcare Design’s Best Under 40 (U40)
Committee Chair: Graham Sinclair, AIA, LEED GA, EDAC
The U40 List is nomination oriented recognition to celebrate individuals making a significant contribution to the advancement of health facilities design. Deadline for submission is April 3, 2017.

Southern Ellis, AIA and Tatiana Guimaraes, Assoc, AIA spoke at ASHE PDC 2017 at the Emerging Professionals Forum on March 13, 2017. In an effort to heighten awareness about healthcare design with university student, Kirsten Staloch and Southern Ellis, spoke at the AIAS conference in Dec 2016.
