This checklist is intended for use in state or local (county or city) justice systems throughout the United States that are planning to build or renovate new facilities for their justice system. It may be most useful in the early planning stages, when the location, size, and specific uses of the proposed building are still being considered. Items from the Societal and Community scales are most relevant to these issues. As planning progresses to more detailed considerations of building layout, site design, and even in some cases construction materials, the Facility and Human scales are intended to provide guidance towards a design approach that incorporates current best practices in accordance with the principles mentioned above (and described in detail in the "Green Guide to Justice Facilities").#AcademyonArchitectureforJustice #Guides
