Designing Technology Solutions for Optimal Outcomes: How to Successfully Incorporate Technology Into Senior Living New Builds and Renovations

12-06-2021 09:21 AM

Hosted by the Design for Aging (DFA) Knowledge Community on December 6, 2021.

Description

Too often Senior Living communities find themselves stuck between the desire to add new and innovative technologies and the reality that their building infrastructure is outdated and cannot support the latest in technology trends. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted these gaps as technology became a "must have" solution instead of a "nice to have" option. The planful use of technology to solve current and future challenges will help operators realize gains in staffing efficiency, resident care outcomes, and provide options for future tech deployments. The key to current and ongoing success depends on the ability to design, specify and deploy technology-rich environments that seamlessly blend interior design form with technology function.

Learning objectives
  1. Understand recent changes in the technology landscape and where Senior Living tech is going in the direction of Resident Safety and Wellness.
  2. Learn the importance of a properly-designed network infrastructure that can support today’s and tomorrow's Safety and Wellness technology solutions.
  3. Grasp the importance of having a Technology Design professional engaged with your team early to achieve optimal outcomes for resident Wellness and Safety.
  4. Recognize the impact technology can have in conjunction with space planning and interior design on Resident Safety and Wellness.
