Sustainable 2040: Green Guide to Justice
The Sustainable 2040: Green Guide to Justice is
a resource for AIA/AAJ members that sets forth a
vision for how the justice buildings that we design
can support the sustainability of communities,
institutions, and the persons in contact with the
justice system. It presents a holistic view of the
linkage between these buildings and their context,
both physical/environmental and systemic/
operational. The proposition that beneficial outcomes
are the true measure of a sustainable system is
supported by emergent hybrid building types that blur
the boundaries between police, courts, detention, and
health care facilities to implement effective ways to
address needs and to deliver positive outcomes.
